Barbara A. “The Packer Lady” Mendlesky

            Barbara A. “The Packer Lady” Mendlesky, 71, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, February 22, 2013, at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born December 1, 1941, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Dennis F. and Hazel R. Hall Bunker. Barbara was a 1960 graduate of L.P. Goodrich High School. On July 15, 1961, she married Richard R. Mendlesky at St. Mary’s Church. He preceded her in death on October 18, 1993. Barbara was a past Fond du Lac City Council member serving for over 10 years, was a founding board member of the Fond du Lac Humane Society, and a member of the Fond du Lac Humane Society. Since 1995, she was the owner and operator of Titletown Treasures, a company that sold autographed Packer memorabilia.

            Surviving are two daughters, Lynn Marie (Patrick) Groesbeck of North Fond du Lac, and Laura Jean Foster of Fond du Lac, six grandchildren, Amanda and Shawn Groesbeck, and Alicia (Bill) Stockwell, Christopher Hensler, and Brittany and Brandon Foster, and four great-grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother, Thomas (JoAnn) Bunker of Lake Havasu, AZ, her mother-in-law, Ruth Mendlesky, of Fond du Lac, and a brother-in-law, Robert (Margaret)

Mendlesky of Eagle River, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

            Visitation for Barbara A. “The Packer Lady” Mendlesky will be on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, from 4 to 8 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and again from 10 to 11 AM at Sacred Heart Church-Holy Family Parish. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 AM at the church on Thursday. Cremation will follow the services with burial of cremated remains in Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
