Blaine M. Toshner
Blaine M. Toshner, of
found peace on September 24, 2014 at
which was also the place of his birth on June 12, 1966.
Blaine brought so much love, joy and humor to this world
which today is still felt by the students he taught, the players that he
coached, the strangers he quickly developed into friends, the people he worked
with, his friends and his family. One
can still hear him citing the “joke of the day” over the loud speaker and down
the hallways at the schools he had been affiliated with, both in the
Family and friends can recall this as well, followed quickly by, ”How
are you?” “How is your family?” “…your
kids?” “Do you need me to help with anything?”
His spirit was so aware and drawn to those in need. And to those, he gave his everything. He was not concerned about money, image, or
material things but rather the smile that could lift a person up or the
generous donation from a pocket not so full to someone else, who in his mind,
needed it more.
What we remember is his twinkly smile and his unbelievably
quick wit that left people amazed and painful with laughter and asking for
more, more, more. Yet, he was sensitive
and sweet beyond words. He could write
poetry and his pen wrote his emotion perhaps better than his spoken word.
Blaine is survived by the “love of his life,” his mom, Mickey McCarty Toshner, his sisters,
Julie Toshner (dog/Flynn), Mary (Will) Sykes, Maureen (Moe) Toshner/Mohebali,
his brothers, Steve Toshner, Brian (Shirley Street) Toshner, Brennan (Suzanne)
Toshner and his best buddy, dog, Jamo, along with many nieces, nephews, great
niece, great nephews and relatives. He
was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Toshner and his father, Darrell
Toshner.
A private service for the family is being planned and will
take place at Zacherl Funeral Home & Crematory in
