Brian A. Koepsel

Brian A. Koepsell, 57, of rural Waupun, entered into eternal rest Thursday, February 11, 2016 after a 15-year struggle with leukemia. He died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family.


Brian was born May 2, 1958 in Beaver Dam the son of Norbert and Lorraine Fink Koepsell.  Brian was a 1976 graduate of Horicon High School. On June 6, 1980 he married Kaye Vande Berg in Waupun.  Brian worked for Mayville Metal Products for 10 years and then started his painting business, Brian Koepsell Painting, of which he just celebrated 30 years of residential and commercial painting.  Brian’s great aspirations were being a husband, father, and office bearer at Netherlands Reformed Congregation. He was a jack of all trades, and was always ready to help others.  Brian was a member of Netherlands Reformed Congregation in Waupun.


Brian is survived by his wife of 35 years, Kaye Koepsell of rural Waupun; their children: Dan (Vicky) Koepsell of Alto, Joel Koepsell of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Holli (Arnie) Blok of Kalamazoo, MI; Tyler Koepsell (fiancée, Emily Moore) of Waupun; Bethany Koepsell of rural Waupun; three grandchildren: Molly, Christian, and Justus; his mother, Lorraine Koepsell of Horicon; three brothers: Dennis (LouAnn) Koepsell of Horicon, Doug (Mary) Koepsell of Horicon, and Greg (Kim) Koepsell of Oshkosh; three sisters: Sharon (Jack) Kiesow of Horicon, Doreen (Rick) Dittberner of Oshkosh, and Lisa (Scott) Ziorgen of Horicon; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.


Brian was preceded in death by his father, Norbert Koepsell; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Janet Vande Berg; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Ryan.


Funeral services for Brian Koepsell will be held Monday, February 15, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Waupun with Pastor A.T. Vergunst officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun. Friends and relatives may call on the family at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 12 noon until the time of service.
