Carlyle F. Kollman

Carlyle F. Kollmann, 95, of Oakfield, went to his heavenly home and was reunited with his wife, Alvina Monday, December 10, 2018. He was born April 1, 1923 in Springvale, the youngest of twelve children to August and Marie Bussewitz Kollmann. In his early years Carlyle worked for Marathon County Highway Department. Carlyle and Alvina owned and operated a milk route for Park Cheese where he became a cheesemaker. He worked over 30 years at Grande Cheese until his retirement. On December 5, 1942 he married Alvina I. Kottmann in Oakfield and they lived their entire married life in the same house outside of Oakfield. He served in the U.S. Army from 1945 – 1946. After retirement they traveled all over the country with a small pop up camper. Carlyle worked for the Town of Oakfield Recycling Center and mowed lawn at Avoca Cemetery after retirement. He was willing to help anyone who needed it. He enjoyed making lawn decorations, of which can be seen around the Oakfield area, gardening and loved going to the casino and getting his daily scratch offs. Carlyle was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather who will be remembered by everyone who knew him.

He is survived by four children, Janice Kollmann, Fond du Lac, John (Pamela) Kollmann, Oakfield, Kathy (Jim) Flynn, Shelbyville, IN, Kay (Dann) Reynolds, Rineyville, KY; 13 grandchildren, John (Therese) Krause, Laura (Erick) Ruotsala, Jonell (Bob) Cornejo, Greg (Maggie) Kollmann, Michele (Steve) Sandstrom, Kevin (Taffy) Flynn, Jacqueline Flynn, Michael (Angie) Kollmann, Eileen (Will Bolden) Kollmann, Patrick (Halee) Flynn, Scott (Katie) Flynn, Nick (Melissa Walters) Flynn, Megan Reynolds; 16 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 69 years, Alvina; five sisters, Selma, Hulda, Alma, Agnes, and Olga; and six brothers, George, Walter, William, John, Herman, and Rudolph.

The visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, December 14, 2018 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Saturday from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at church. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Oakfield with Rev. Matthew Schwartz officiating. Burial will follow in Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield.
