Caroline “Peg” Katherine Wood

Caroline “Peg” Katherine Wood passed away peacefully on Saturday July 26th with family by her side at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home.



She was born January 10th, 1923 to the late Robinson and Corneila Jacobs in Tigerton, WI. In 1930 she moved to Quinney, WI. She married Earl Wood on March 2nd 1946, in Fond du Lac. Peg was employed at Infant Sock Company in Fond du Lac and Aluminum Specialty in Chilton. She was a member of St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Chilton, Stockbridge Legion Auxiliary and the Oneida Nation. She volunteered many hours to the Shepherd’s Attic in Chilton. Peg had an extremely kind and Christian heart and a witty sense of humor. She was an avid sports fan and rarely missed a game that one of her grandchildren played in. Peg was a fantastic cook who never passed up an opportunity to share time with family and friends over a good cup of coffee and a meal. She was a devoted wife and enjoyed many polka dances with her husband Earl. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and a friend to all.



Peg is survived by her son Neil and his wife Christine of Fond du Lac and son David of New Holstein. Grandchildren Michelle (Jim) Krebs of Fond du Lac, Steven (Darlene) Wood of Madison, Barbara (Lance) Hall of Kaukauna and Lisa (Joe) Van Handel of Saint Cloud. Great-grandchildren Nolan, Megan & Kaleb Hall, Allison Krebs and Evan and Jolee Van Handel. Brother Steve (Lorna) Jacobs of Chilton, sisters-in-law Marian Schroeder of Pulaski, Edna Palubicki of De Pere and Dolores Jacobs of Appleton and nieces and nephews.



She was greeted at heaven’s gate by her parents, husband Earl, brother Lester, sister Stella (Gary) Oman, brother-in-laws Florian Schroeder, Ritchie Palubicki, Calvin (Ruth) Wood, sister-in-law Kathy Jacobs, special cousin Arlyle (Ervin) Turnbloom, special aunt Rose Moon and mother-in-law Anna Wood.



Funeral services will be at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at St. Martin Lutheran Church (717 Memorial Dr.) in Chilton with the Rev. Jonathan Christensen officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 2:00 pm until 3:45 pm on Tuesday, July 29, 2014
