Carolyn Jean Tries

Carolyn Jean Tries, 37, passed away unexpected at her home on Friday August 22, 2014. She was born on January 11, 1977, a daughter of Michael F. and Kathleen A. (Bartol) Ponik. 

In 2005 Carolyn married Nikolas Tries in Milwaukee.

Carolyn attended college at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and Marian University in Fond du Lac for her teaching degree.  She was formerly employed at St. Mary’s Springs Academy and at Oakfield Public Schools.  Carolyn major interest was athletic conditioning and she participated in many triathlons. She also taught physical conditioning and spin classes at the Fond du Lac YMCA.

Carolyn was a very kind person who would do anything for anyone.  She was always upbeat and loved her children and family. 

She is survived by Nikolas, her husband; parents, Michael and Kathleen of Beaver Dam; children, Viktor and Hans; maternal grandmother, Wanda Bartol of Beaver Dam; one brother, Joseph (Tanya) Ponik; mother-in-law, Jeanette Tries of Milwaukee; many other relatives and friends. 

Preceding Carolyn in death are grandparents, Gilbert and Mildred Ponik, Victor Bartol.

Visitation:  The family will receive relatives and friends at Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac, on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM. 

Service:  A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Church on Wednesday, August 27, at 11:00 AM.  Cremation has taken place and burial will be at a later time. 

Memorials in her name may be directed to the family for her two children.
