Catherine M. Kastein
Catherine M. Kastein, 92, of Waupun, died Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Christian Home and Rehabilitation Center in Waupun.
Catherine Kastein was born October 12, 1925 in the town of Alto, the daughter of Ralph and Alice Bruins Broadway. On May 22, 1947 she married Roger W. Kastein in Alto. Following their marriage the couple resided in the Alto area all of their married lives. In 2006 Catherine moved to Waupun. Catherine was employed for five years at the Wee Care Child Care Center in Waupun. She was a member of Alto Reformed Church where she was a member of the Woman’s Guild, Golden Lifers, the choir, and was a Sunday School Teacher.
Catherine is survived by four sons: Stuart (Carrie) Kastein of Malone, Bruce Kastein of Brandon, Philip Kastein of Beaver Dam, and Brent Kastein of Brandon; seven grandchildren: Bridgette (Bryan) Gerl, Margaret (Steve) Wolfgram, Andy (Autumn) Kastein, Zachary (Felicia) Kastein, and Erika, Trevor, and Jeremy Kastein; great-grandchildren: Nolan Gerl, Lauren Gerl, Gemma Wolfgram, and Natasha, Carson, and Aubree Kastein; a daughter-in-law, Gail Kastein of Beaver Dam; a sister, Arlene Henning of Fond du Lac; and a sister-in-law, Florence Kastein of Waupun.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger W. Kastein; a son, Ross Kastein; a brother, Howard Broadway; two sisters: Lois Harmsen and Joyce Cavanaugh; nephews: Randy Harmsen, Paul Harmsen, Robert Henning, and Ronald Kastein; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alvin and Marie Kastein, Howard Kastein, Alma Broadway, and Cliff Cavanaugh.
Funeral services for Catherine M. Kastein will be held Monday, October 23, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Alto Reformed Church with Rev. Kevin Van Wyk officiating. Burial will follow at Alto Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun and on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
