Cecelia Boehnlein

Cecelia “Ceil” Boehnlein, 96, of Chilton, died on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Atrium Post Acute Care in Chilton.

Ceil was born on May 26, 1921, in Jericho, WI, daughter of the late Henry and Anna (Buhl) Wagner. She married Roman Boehnlein on June 24, 1941 and together they raised seven children.

Ceil was a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church as well as the Chilton Eagles. She was a member of many Sheepshead Clubs and loved going to the Oneida Casino and playing Bingo. Ceil was also an avid fisherman – she speared sturgeon until she was 85 years old. Her other favorite pastime was flower gardening, and one of her shining moments was winning an award for her beautiful orchids. Ceil paid attention to one thing more than her flowers or anything else: her family. She anxiously awaited family gatherings for birthdays and holidays so she could see everyone in one place and share a meal.

Ceil is survived by her seven children: Donna (Elmer) Hanke; Mary Ann Bienvenue; Glenroy (Karen) Boehnlein; Paul (Joan) Boehnlein; Susan (Bill) Grube; Jerry Boehnlein; and Roger (Special Friend, Anna Ziegelbauer) Boehnlein; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives.

Ceil was preceded in death by her husband, Roman; her parents: Henry and Anna Wagner; her sisters: Matilda (Ernest) Lehrke, and Marcella (Clarence) Kraus; a son-in-law: Paul Bienvenue; two grandchildren; and many other relatives.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Atrium Post Acute Care of Chilton, the staff of Heartland Hospice, and the staff of Calumet County Medical Center for the loving care given Cecelia’s stay at their facilities.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at 11:30am at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E Main St) in Chilton with Fr. Ryan Krueger officiating. Friends may call the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W Main St) from 9:00am until 11:00am on Wednesday, August 30, 2017.
