Charles J. Witte

Charles
J. Witte, 69, of Fond du Lac, Wis., died from natural causes on Wednesday,
September 16, 2015 in Escanaba, Mich. while on a fishing trip. He was born in
Oak Park, Ill. on May 27, 1946 to Charles and Clara (Zebroski) Witte. Charles
graduated from college with 2 bachelor’s degrees; Zoology and Business
Management. On April 3, 1971, he married Diane B. Grunloh in Effingham, Ill.

He
was a unique and one of a kind husband and father who was admired and loved
deeply by his family. Charles was a hunter, fisherman, trapper and
conservationist. He had imported hundred’s of exotic tropical plant and tree
species from around the world, which he would then replant on his property. He
retired from Mercury Marine after 35 years employed as a machinist.

His
advice to people was simple: plant a tree, enjoy the outdoors, smile, love your
neighbor and eat dessert first.

Charles
is survived by his wife of 44 years, Diane; 3 children, Carolyn (Johnny Berens)
Riedel of Seattle, Wash., Crissy (Michael) Gee of Missoula, Mont., and Charles
(Pamela) of Montgomery, Ill.; 1 brother, John (Linda) of Green Lake, Wis., and
1 sister, Barbara (Wayne) Hall of Parsons, Tenn. He was preceded in death by
his parents.

for Charles will be held Sunday, September 20, 2015 from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM at
Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. Funeral service will
follow at 5:00 PM. Cremation has taken place.

In
lieu of flowers, Charles would want friends and family to make a contribution
to the Ducks Unlimited or the conservation group of your choice.
