Claire O’Konski Ciha

Claire O’Konski Ciha, beloved wife of Aloysius G. Ciha, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, December 4, 2017 at the age of 89. 



Claire was born in Kewaunee, Wisconsin to the late Stella Ratajczak and Thomas O’Konski on March 29, 1928. 



Claire spent her formative years in Kewaunee, Wisconsin where she graduated from Kewaunee High School. 



Claire received her Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and was subsequently employed as an Agricultural Journalist by the University of Illinois. 



On February 11, 1950, Claire married Al Ciha, beginning a love-filled marriage and a remarkable romance that would last for 67 years. 



Claire and Al made their home in southeastern Wisconsin, where they happily raised seven children. 



Claire was the Director of Buildings and Grounds for Moraine Park Technical College in West Bend for many years before retiring in 1995. 



Claire is survived by her husband Al, her children Fran, Patrick, James, Michael and Philip, her grandchildren Genny, Julia, Jack, Abby, Ben, Meron, Merhawi, Mary, Jennifer, Thomas, Lauren and Owen and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 



Claire was pre-deceased by her daughters Kate and Mary. 



A Mass will be held for Claire at 11 AM on Wednesday, December 27 at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 105 Church Street, Theresa, Wisconsin. 



In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Padre Pio Foundation of America, 463 Main Street, Cromwell, Connecticut 06416.
