Daniel J. Palecek
Daniel John
Palecek, 63, passed away unexpectedly on March 1, 2017. He was born in Oshkosh,
WI on August 5, 1953, a son of Charles and Janet (Hupfer) Palecek. Dan married
Diane Bohlman Giese on March 4, 1994 in Fond du Lac.
Dan owned
his own company for 35 years and was a well-respected businessman. Dan will be
remembered for his love of life on the lake, his ability to fix anything (or he
knew a guy who could), his devotion to his two step-sons who he raised as his
own, his deep love for his friends and family, and most of all, his wife Diane.
Dan is
survived by his wife Diane; his step-children Thomas and Rob Giese; his mother
Janet; his siblings Susan (Tom) Buehring, Donna Palecek, Douglas Palecek, and
Dick (Bonnie) Palecek; his sisters-in-law Sharon (John) Ashenbrenner and Mary
Race. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends.
Dan was preceded
in death by his father Charles, his parents-in-law Melvin and Betsy Bohlman,
his good friend Joe Gerlach and his beloved dog Bob.
Visitation:
Dan’s family will greet relatives and friends at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E.
Division St., Fond du Lac, on Monday, March 6th, 2017 from 3:00 to
5:45 PM.
Service: A
memorial service will be celebrated following visitation at the funeral home on
Monday, March 6th, 2017 at 6:00 PM.
In lieu of
flowers, memorials can be directed to the family who will establish a memorial
in Dan’s name.
