David Joseph “Trapper” Flitter

David Joseph “Trapper” Flitter, 76, of Campbellsport died peacefully among his family members after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday Sept. 30, 2014 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. He was born on Oct. 30, 1937 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, the son of Joseph and Marie (nee Rauch) Flitter. He attended St. Matthews Catholic Grade School and Campbellsport High School graduating in 1955. David was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the Army Air Corp. On July 11, 1959 Dave married Janet Joan Hackbarth. They enjoyed 55 years of married life together. He retired as a teamster and enjoyed the last 25 years of his career at J & J Baumhardt Trucking. Dave enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR, his cabin up North, deer hunting and fishing. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. 



Dave is survived by his wife Janet, his son Jeff (Cathy Fay) of Campbellsport, his grandchildren Jenna (Daniel) Loomis, Aric Flitter (Sara Ramthun) and Alyssa Flitter, his great granddaughter Gwenyth Loomis, his brother Richard (Jean) Flitter of Fond du Lac and his grandpuppies Shania and Katrina. He is further survived his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dave was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Marie. 



A celebration of Dave’s life will be Friday Oct. 3rd at St. Matthew’s Church, 406 E. Main St. Campbellsport, with visitation from 4:00 PM until a Mass of Christian Burial at 6:00 PM. Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate and inurnment will be Sat. Oct. 4th at 10:30 AM at St. Matthews Cemetery. 



The family extends a huge thank you to all the nurses, doctors and staff at St. Agnes ICU, Emergency Room, 5th Floor and Agnesian Cancer Care.
