Domicell Dorothy Chudd

Domicell Dorothy Chudd,
89, claimed her eternal reward on May 21, 2015 in Fort Collins, Colorado,
surrounded by her family.  Dom was born
June 23, 1925 to Mike and Mary Silke in Mecan, WI.

She graduated from Lowell
P. Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac in 1943, and immediately went to work
for the war effort in Chicago.  She met
her husband and soulmate, John A. Chudd, in the Windy City, marrying at St.
Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fond du Lac May 3, 1947.  An accomplished typist and stenographer, Dom
worked in the offices of Wells Manufacturing while raising her children.  She retired in 1991, and moved to Colorado in
December, 2010.

Dom was an avid reader,
often reading 8 or more books at once to suit her interests.  She enjoyed crossword puzzles and a rousing
game of Scrabble.  She had a unique
outlook on life that endeared her to most that came in contact with her.  Always with a smile and an appreciation for
visitors, she reminded us of old fashioned values and attitudes that have
become rare in our society.  She worried
more than most, making us grateful for having fewer cares.  Despite her fears, Dom traveled extensively
through the United States and Canada by car with her family.  She stretched her comfort zone in an effort
to expand her horizons, and instilled a sense of adventure and a love of travel in both of her
children.

Her dry, sarcastic wit was surprising and refreshing.  She was always concerned about the cares and
lives of people, first asking about others before sharing her own
circumstances.    She
will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son
James (Yvonne) of Fort Collins; her daughter, Christine of San Francisco; and
her granddaughter, Jean Chudd Chambers of Colorado Springs.
