Donald J. Goebel

Donald J. Goebel, 96, formerly of Malone passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Crossroads in Fond du Lac. He was born on December 13, 1921, the son of Frank and Eleanor (Schwind) Goebel. On January 6, 1951, he was united in marriage to Anna Marie Brown at St. Michael’s Church in Dotyville. Donald was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He cherished his time with his wife, fishing and playing cards of any kind; but his best, by far, was Sheephead and Euchor. He was a member of Holy Family Parish in Fond du Lac. He was a lifetime member of the Pipe Fishing Club. Donald became a life member of Engineers Union Local #139 after 50 years and was proud of it.

He worked the roller for years with Rasmussen Construction and retired from Payne and Dolan in 1985. His best part of that was going out for a couple beers with the guys after work. He was a wonderful Husband, Father and Grandpa-and will be missed by all.

Donald is survived by his four children Bonnie Goebel, Steve Goebel (Sue Emmer), Mona (Tim) Rauls and Vicki (Dave) Buerger and six grandchildren Steve Jr, Jason and Mike Goebel, Zachary Rauls, Brock Buerger and Mollie Buerger/Petri. Also by his thirteen great grandchildren Tristen, Autumn, Trenton, Cullin, Jase, Evan, Kylie, Chloe, Damian, Eliana, Myah, Jaxon and Flynn, as well as his brother Jerry (Ginny) Goebel and sister-in-law Mary Doughtery.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 53 years Anna Marie “Sis”, his brothers Robert, Kenneth, Francis, Joseph and Lawrence, his sisters Dorothy, Cecelia, Marian and Rosemary “Rosie”, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
