Doris M. Haag

Doris May Haag, 96, formerly
of 553 Emma Street, died Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Tarfa Terrace of Lutheran
Homes & Health Services.  She was
born May 7, 1921, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of Jacob and Elsie Priepke
Meyer.  On January 14, 1941, she married
Ronald E. Haag in Dubuque, Iowa.  He
preceded her in death on March 10, 1994.

 

Doris was a 1939 graduate of Fond
du Lac Senior High.  After raising her
children, she worked for the Fond du Lac School District as a cook manager for
27 years; 24 of those years were at Sabish Junior High School.  During that time, she was a member of both
the American and Wisconsin Food Service Associations.  She was a member of Salem United Methodist
Church for over 80 years, and at the time of her death was the oldest member of
the church.  Doris was an active
volunteer throughout her life.  She
taught Sunday School for 16 years, volunteered in the church office for over 35
years, and volunteered at the Harbor Haven Health & Rehabilitation
Auxiliary Gift Shop for over 30 years. 
In 2012, she received ‘The Outstanding Senior Volunteer Award’ from
Cheers for Volunteers which honors and recognizes the work of outstanding
volunteers in the community.

 

Survivors include her
daughter, Carol J. North and her late husband Irving of Stillwater, OK; two sons,
Ronald K. and his wife Beverly of Van Dyne, and Douglas W. and his wife
Margaret Ann of Hartland; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren:
Kevin (Cathy) North and their sons Samuel and Matthew, Holly North (Curtis
Stogsdill), Matthew (Laura) Haag and their children Natalie and Isaac, Kathleen
(Joshua) Stokka, and Daniel Haag. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews
and friends.

 

VISITATION: Friends may call
on Friday, October 13, 2017, from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Kurki-Mach Funeral Chapel,
31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac.

 

FUNERAL: Funeral services
will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. at Kurki-Mach Funeral
Chapel, with Rev. Bill Beaton officiating. 
A private burial will take place at Ledgeview Memorial Park.

may be directed to Salem United Methodist Church, 120 Sheboygan St., Fond du
Lac, WI 54935.
