Dorothy A. Schmolesky

Dorothy Arlene Schmolesky
entered eternal life, to be with her Savior, on February 10, 2017, at

St. Agnes Hospital.

 

She was born on September 12, 1929, in Fond du Lac,
Wisconsin, the daughter of Henry A. and Elsie T. (Salzwedel) Schmolesky.

 

She entered the Kingdom of God, through Holy
Baptism, on September 29, 1929.  She
attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School in North Fond du Lac and on April 18, 1943,
she renewed the vows made at her baptism in the rite of confirmation.  She graduated from Winnebago Lutheran Academy
in Fond du Lac in 1947. 

 

After special training, she became a Christian Day
School teacher, serving five years at St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Wonewoc,
Wisconsin; five years at St. Peter’s Lutheran School in Fond du Lac; and
seventeen years at Luther Memorial School in Fond du Lac. 

 

Dorothy was a charter member of Luther Memorial
Church.  She did office work in various
places after her teaching ended.  She was
a volunteer for the Fond du Lac County Senior Dining Program.  She was a member of the Lakeside Chapter of
the Hammond Organ Society.  Her greatest
pleasure in life was music.

 

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Yvonne
Schmolesky of North Fond du Lac; her niece, Debra (James) Bakken of Saint
Peter, Minnesota, and their children, Jeremy and Donna; her nephew, Daniel
(Terri) Schmolesky of Murrieta, California, and their children, Eiraina,
Sienna, Aniesia, Kireana, Luchea, and Trajan; her niece, Dawn Schaefer of Fond
du Lac, Wisconsin, and her children, Logan, Jordan, and Lindsey; her niece,
Diane Kieckbusch of Sussesx, Wisconsin; and also many friends.

 

 She was
preceded in death by her father and mother, and her brother Arnold.

 

VISITATION:  The visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00
a.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at Luther Memorial Church, 134 21st
Street, Fond du Lac.

 

SERVICE:  The funeral service will be held at 11:00
a.m. on Thursday at Luther Memorial Church with Rev. Neal Radichel officiating.

 

Burial
will be in Estabrooks Cemetery.

 

Memorials
may be directed to Luther Memorial Church.

    

The family wishes to thank
Family Care, especially Sharon and Linda, the daily caregivers; Adult Day
Center, especially Sandy and Shelly; the staff of Fond du Lac County Senior
Services; the staff at St. Agnes Hospital; and Pastor Neal Radichel.  Special thanks to all the members of Luther
Memorial Church, who have so graciously met Dorothy’s transportation needs for
so many years.
