Dorothy G. Koenigs

Dorothy Gertrude Koenigs, 96,
passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home to
be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in heaven, next to her late husband
Ambrose.

 

Dorothy was born on November
5, 1921, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Joseph and Julia Lefeber.  On October 20, 1941, she married Ambrose
Koenigs, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fond du Lac.  In October of 2016, they celebrated 75 years
of marriage.  She and Ambrose were
farmers in the Johnsburg area until their retirement.

 

Dorothy was a member of St.
John the Baptist Catholic Church, Johnsburg, a volunteer for Loaves and Fishes,
active with the Pipe Senior Citizens Group, Homemakers of Fond du Lac, and
Johnsburg 4-H Club.  She was so very proud
of her family.  She enjoyed watching
family members in sporting events, watching “The Golden Girls” and “Everybody
Loves Raymond,” and her favorite treat, Kentucky Fried Chicken.

 

She is survived by one
daughter, Jeanne (Gerald) Janiak of Fond du Lac; one son, Joseph (Sandy)
Koenigs of Franklin; ten grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; also
great-great grandchildren; one sister: Elizabeth (Betty) Koenigs; three
sisters-in-law: Dorothy Koenigs, Lois Koenigs, Elaine Lefeber.

 

She was preceded in death by
her parents, her husband Ambrose; daughter, Marianne Stephany; son-in-law:
Michael Stephany; grandchildren: Annette Lunn and Todd Stephany; sisters:
Lucille Loehr, Louise Martin, Julietta Konen; brothers: Elmer and Harold;
sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

 

VISITATION:  Friends may call from 1:00 – 3:00 PM on
Friday, February 2, 2018, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, N9288 Hwy W,
Johnsburg.

 

FUNERAL: A Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 PM at church with Fr. Gary Wegner, O.F.M. Cap
and Sr. Jesata, officiating.  Cremation
will follow the traditional service.

 

The family appreciates all
the wonderful care Mom and Dad received while residents of the Lutheran Home
and from Marquardt Hospice.  We also
thank the faithful visitors, especially Dave and Sue Burlingham, Dave and
Dorothy Nett and others who helped brighten the days for Mom and Dad.
