Dorothy M. Elms

Dorothy
M. Elms, 91, passed away March 5, 2014 at the West Suburban Nursing Center in
Bloomingdale, IL.

She
was born in Fond du Lac, WI on June 21, 1922 to the late Edward and Margaret
Meno Farha.

After
high school, she went to Washington, DC to work for the FBI during WWII.  While there she also played trumpet in an
acclaimed all girls orchestra.  The
orchestra rehearsed in a building on the White House property and they played for
the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Eleanor Roosevelt and many other venues.

When
she returned to Fond du Lac, she met John Elms who recently returned from
serving with the Army in the South Pacific and they married on June 14, 1947.

Dorothy
enjoyed knitting and loved frequent camping trips with family and friends.

Survivors
include her four children: Cheryl (Rick) Dodson of Driftwood, TX; Gary (Lynne)
Elms, of Bloomingdale, IL; John Jr. (Linda) Elms, of Schaumburg, IL; Ed Elms of
Bloomingdale, IL; four grandchildren: Spencer Dodson, Jamie, Nicholas and Katie
Elms; one great granddaughter Lauren; one sister-in-law, Gladys Jaber of Fond
du Lac; also by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Dorothy
was preceded in death by her husband John and three siblings: Evie, Laurie
Barbeau, and Joseph.

Visitation: Family will receive relatives and friends on
Sunday, March 9, 2014 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E.
Division St., Fond du Lac, WI.

Services: A
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday 10, 2014, 10:00 am at Sacred
Heart Church, 200 S. Peters Avenue.  Burial
will be in Calvary Cemetery, Fond du Lac, WI.
