Dorothy R. Grangaard

Dorothy R. Grangaard, 96, of
Fond du Lac, died Friday, September 23, 2016, at

Artisan Memory Care.

 

She was born on November 2,
1919, in Milwaukee, a daughter of Jacob and Marie A. Stella Giove.  She was a graduate of West Division High
School, Milwaukee, Class of 1937, and participated on the dance squad.  Dorothy was a Coca Cola girl during World War
II.

 

On October 1, 1942, she
married Dr. Lawrence R. Grangaard in Milwaukee. 
He preceded her in death on July 14, 1956.

 

Dorothy was an executive
secretary at International Paper Co. and Giddings & Lewis, which she
enjoyed very much.  She was active in
Professional Secretaries International, holding offices and traveling to
various meetings. 

 

She was a founding member of
Memorial Baptist Church.  She was an avid
bridge player, Packer and Brewer fan, enjoyed golfing and Schreiner’s
Restaurant.

 

She is survived by a son, Dr.
Daniel (Becky) Grangaard of Austin, Texas; two grandchildren:  Dawn (Jon) Ratzlaff of Dallas, and Scott
Grangaard of Austin, Texas; three great-grandchildren:  Enoch, Titus, and Malachi Ratzlaff; two
nieces:  Donna Lea Stall of Elk Grove
Village, Illinois, and Angela (Bob) Kipp of Kewaskum; and three nephews: John
(Dani Joy) Giove of Muskego, Dan (Dawn) Giove of West Bend, and Trace Giove of
Oxnard, CA.

 

She was preceded in death by
her parents; her husband, Dr. Lawrence Grangaard; and four brothers:  Daniel, Rocco, Jacob, and Robert Giove.

 

VISITATION:  The visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. –
11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Memorial Baptist Church, 645 Forest
Avenue, Fond du Lac.

 

SERVICES:  The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m.
on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Brian
Hastings officiating.

 

Burial will follow at Rienzi
Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials
may be directed to Memorial Baptist Church or Artisan Memory Care.
