E. Jean Petersen

 

E. Jean Petersen, 92, of Fond
du Lac, died Sunday, December 22, 2013, at the St. Francis Home.

 

She was born on May 7, 1921, in
rural Fort Atkinson, a daughter of Charles E. and Faye McKeand Ward.  Jean was a 1938 graduate of Fort Atkinson
High School.

 

Jean was a member of First
Presbyterian Church, where she also served as the secretary for over 20 years.  She was a member of the Martha Circle and the
Daughters of the American Revolution.  Jean
was a volunteer with Advocap’s Foster Grandparent Program.

 

Jean was the beloved matriarch
of her family.  She attracted all who met
her with her gentle manner and living spirit.

 

She is survived by four
children:  Kristin Seidner of Netanya,
Israel, Donald Petersen of Milwaukee, Brian (Linda) Petersen of Fond du Lac,
and Karla (Fran) Allas of Alto Loma, California; eight grandchildren; nine
great-grandchildren; a niece, Pat (Bill) McGee of Tucson, Arizona; and a
nephew, Rex (Donna) Carlaw of Kingston, Washington.

 

She was preceded in death by
her parents; two brothers:  Charles Ward,
Jr. and Howard Ward; and a daughter-in-law, Monica Petersen.

 

A memorial service will be
held at noon on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church, 1225
Fourth Street, Fond du Lac, with Rev. Jack Harrison officiating.  Inurnment will be in Rienzi Cemetery
Mausoleum.

 

The family will greet
relatives and friends on Saturday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of
service.
