Edna L. Sina

Edna L. Sina, 90, of Fond du
Lac, died Friday, May 26, 2017, at Fond du Lac Lutheran Home.

 

She was born on May 21, 1927,
in Green Lake County, the daughter of George and Martha Genentz Hempel. She
married Leander Freund on February 10, 1945, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in
Fond du Lac. Their marriage ended in divorce. Leander died on January 9, 1984.
On November 6, 1976, Edna married Leo Sina at Church of Peace in Fond du Lac. Leo
died on November 16, 1989.

 

In her early working years,
Edna was employed by Wells and Infant Socks. She was very proud to be a bus
driver for Head Start for 15 years from 1973-1988. She enjoyed playing cards,
dancing with her special friends, crocheting, making lap covers for the elderly
and loved canning. Edna also enjoyed spending time with her many special
friends and family.

 

She is survived by three
children: Nancy (Harold) Sauerbrei, Bonnie (Fred) Brown and Randall (special
friend, Lori) Freund all of Fond du Lac; seven grandchildren: Melody (Kevin)
Calkins of Pardeeville, Rebecca Sauerbrei of Markesan, Roxann (Judd) Becker of
Pardeeville, Korinne (Keith) Hejhal of Beaver Dam, Jonathan Brown of Fond du
Lac, Eric (Sara) Freund of North Fond du Lac and Sarah Freund of Fond du Lac; 11
great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Brandon, Cody, Emaley, Harold, William,
McKinley, Kurtis, Klara, Ava and Elijah: a former daughter-in-law, Susanne
Freund of Fond du Lac; two sisters: Delaine Scherer and Donna (Riley) Mincy
both of North Fond du Lac, other relatives and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by
her parents; two sisters: Violet Collar and Doris Johnson; her husband, Leo
Sina and a special friend, “Mr. Ed.”

 

VISITATION: The family will receive
relatives and friends from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at
Kurki-Mach Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 31 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac.

 

SERVICE: A funeral service
will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday at Kurki-Mach Funeral Chapel and
Crematory with Rev. David Mundt officiating. Burial will be in Ledgeview
Memorial Park.
