Edward “Ed” L. Arnold
Edward “Ed” Lee Arnold, 80, of Fond du Lac, passed on Saturday, May 26, 2018. He was born on January 20, 1938 to the late George H. and Martha C. (Morse) Arnold in Fond du Lac.
On June 22, 1968 he married Elizabeth “Bette” Yockey at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Fond du Lac.
Ed graduated from Goodrich High School in 1956. He served in the US Army from 1960 to 1963 in Japan as a Cryptologist. He worked for Giddings & Lewis from 1965 until his retirement in 2000.
Ed was active in the Community Theater, was a Cub Master for Cub Scouts, a board member for National Marriage Encounter, active as an usher at St. Joe’s Catholic Church, treasurer of the Oakgreen Men’s Golf League, member of the Investment Club and was a member of the Knights of Columbus #664; helped sell tootsie rolls for the Knights. Ed loved many hobbies. They include singing with the Senior Center and playing guitar. He especially loved dancing with his dance partner, Elizabeth Rozek. He really enjoyed exercising at the YMCA and was a mentor for the Boys and Girls Club. Ed cherished the time he had with his family and friends. Most recently he was able to share his favorite city, New Orleans, with his family for his 80th birthday.
Ed is survived by his three children, Patricia (John) Mc Cormick of De Pere, James (Linda) Arnold of St. Peter and Rebecca Arnold of Fond du Lac; five grandchildren, Johnathon, Catherine and Stephen Mc Cormick, Braden Hein and Ethan Arnold; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bette in 2015; his parents and one brother, Lawrence “Larry” Arnold.
Visitation: The family will receive relatives and friends at Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac, on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 9:00 until 10:45 AM.
Mass: At 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 30, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Church with full military honors. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Fond du Lac.
