Elmer O. Wohler

Elmer O. Wohler, 93, formerly
of Eldorado, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Grancare Nursing and
Rehabilitation.

 

He was born on July 24, 1921,
in the Town of Eldorado, a son of Otto and Rose Frederick Wohler.

 

On June 7, 1947, he married
Mildred “Millie” L. Boyke at Church of Peace with the late Rev. Karl Koehler
officiating.  Together he and Millie
owned and operated a dairy farm in the Town of Eldorado for more than 50 years.  He drove truck for the Town of Eldorado.

 

Elmer was a member of Salem
United Methodist Church.  He and Millie
enjoyed square dancing with the Waupun Prison City Square Dance Club and the
Lakeside Twirlers Square Dance Club. 
Elmer was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and enjoyed making
deliveries.  He was an avid accordion
player and played with the Harmonica Rascals. 
He always enjoyed carpentry, fixing things and making homemade
toys.  He was awarded the “Distinguished
Senior Citizen” at the Fond du Lac County Fair. 
Elmer was a loving, sweet, kind, and caring father, husband, and friend.

 

He is survived by three
daughters:  Janet (Franklin) Johnson of
Eldorado, Sandra (Kenneth) Stephany of New Holstein, and Kathryn (Edward)
Montsma of Lamartine; eight grandchildren: Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Johnson, Kimberly
(Joey) Zolezzi, Timothy (Leah) Johnson, Ryan, Megan, and Kyle Stephany, Allison
and Kalen Montsma; eight great-grandchildren: 
McKayla, Brynn , Cambree Johnson, Marissa, Hayden, Greyson Johnson, and
Anthony and Isabella Zolezzi; and a sister-in-law, Marion Wohler.

 

He was preceded in death by
his parents; his wife, Millie, on July 6, 2014; and a brother, Eldon Wohler.

 

The funeral service will be
held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, 2015, at Mach Funeral Chapel &
Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac, with Rev. Bill Beaton
officiating.

 

The visitation will be on
Sunday at Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.       

 

Private family entombment
will be in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at Ledgeview Memorial Park.

 

The family would like to
thank St. Agnes Hospice and the staff at Grancare for all their compassion
shown to Elmer and his family.
