Emil Kalnins

Emil Kalnins, 90, of
Plymouth, died peacefully on Monday, September 2, 2013, at KindredHearts Senior
Living, Plymouth.

 

He was born on June 22, 1923,
in Riga, Latvia, a son of Andre and Natalia Holsmanis Kalnins.

 

On August 7, 1948, he married
Gertrud E. Zitte in Germany, and she preceded him in death on September 25,
1997.  On January 6, 1999, he married
Kathy Maczuzak and she preceded him in death on July 3, 2012.

 

Emil worked as a machinist
for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. 

 

He is survived by a son,
Peter (Connie) Kalnins of Green Bay, and a daughter, Rose (Phil) Griffin of South
Bend, IN; two step-sons: Peter (Lois) Maczuzak of Shawano, and John (Liz)
Maczuzak of Ripon; two grandchildren: 
Nathan and Andrew Kalnins; and seven step-grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by
his parents.

 

The funeral service will be
held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2013, at Mach Funeral Chapel &
Crematory, 31 E. Division St., Fond du Lac, with Rev. Ken Nabi officiating.  The visitation will be on Thursday at Mach
Funeral Chapel & Crematory from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.  Burial will follow in Rienzi Cemetery.
