Eugenia “Jean” I. Wisocki

Eugenia “Jean” I. Wisocki, 88, of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, June 25, 2015, at Hospice Home of Hope.

She was born on July 5, 1926, in Kenosha, a daughter of Ernest J. and Irene M. (Widman) Getschman.

On January 31, 1948, she married Alex Wisocki at St. George’s Catholic Church, Kenosha.  They moved to Fond du Lac in 1958. 

Jean was a member of Holy Family Parish, St. Mary’s Church and a former member of the St. Ann’s Society at St. Louis Catholic Church.  For several years she worked as a Fond du Lac City crossing guard and was a bookkeeper for Wisocki Distributing.  She was an avid card player.

She is survived by eight children:  Sondra “Sandy” (Morrie) Kutchek of Fond du Lac, Marc (Nancy) Mercury of Boynton Beach, Florida, Theresa “Terri” (David) Opperman of Fond du Lac, Jeffrey (Judy) Wisocki of Dallas, Texas, Geralyn “Geri” Tovar of San Diego, California, Phillip (Sonia) Wisocki of Pompano Beach, Florida, Alyson (Michael) Koehn of Fond du Lac, and Kristine (Michael) Hodorff of West Bend; 21 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alex, on December 10, 2007; and brothers and sisters.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac, from noon until 2:00 p.m. when a Liturgy of the Word for Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Inurnment will follow in The Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice Home of Hope.
