Flora Homan

Flora Homan went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 30, 2018 at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living Center in Waupun.

Flora was born July 12, 1931 near Randolph, WI to Charles and Susie (Kramer) Vander Galien. Flora married Edwin Homan on Sept. 15, 1950 in Randolph, WI and they were blessed with 65 years of marriage. They lived in the Waupun area all of their lives.  Flora held various jobs through the years including being the cashier/receptionist of Homan Auto Sales, Inc., which she and Ed began in June of 1974. Her most important and memorable position in life was being the mother to her 5 sons, grandmother to her 12 grandchildren, and great-grandmother to her 10 great-grandchildren (with another on the way). Upon retirement, Flora and Ed purchased a home in Kissimmee, Fl where they spent their winters.  Flora and Ed made many friends in Florida and cherished their time down there. Flora was a member of Alto Christian Reformed Church for many years, most recently a member of Grace United Reformed Church in Waupun, and attended Bible Baptist Church in Kissimmee, Fl during her winters.

Flora is survived by her five sons and their wives: David (Karen) Homan, Steven (Rose) Homan, Jeff (Julane) Homan, Greg (Sue) Homan, and Mark (Jean) Homan; twelve grandchildren: Keith (Felma) Homan, Paula (Hunter) Mulder, Craig (Jessica) Homan, Eric (Casey) Homan, Erin Homan, Jared (Gina) Homan, Jamin (Kara) Homan, Joab (Leah) Homan, Cody Homan, Kara Homan, Ian Homan, and Neda Homan: ten great-grandchildren: Mijin Homan, Sequoia Homan, Andrew Homan, Katelyn Homan, Henri Homan, Julian Homan, George Homan, Lars Homan, Lena Homan, and Leonard Homan; sisters: Evelyn (Lawrence) Beekman, and Ann Dykstra; a brother, Stuart (Charlene) Vander Galien; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Charley (Catherine) Jansma, Kenneth (Elaine) Homan, Pat Homan and Carolyn Homan.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Mike (Evelyn) Vander Galien; a sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette (Gary) DeBoer; brothers-in-law: George Dykstra, and Richard and Harry Homan; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Bernie (Angeline) Beek, and Mary Homan; and a great-grandson, Dominic Homan.

We’ll always remember her sense of humor, her smile, her great cooking, her love of her family, and her faith.

The family wishes to thank Kelley Van Buren for the care and comfort that she provided.
