Gerald F. Ninnemann

Gerald F. Ninnemann, 78, of Campbellsport went to his heavenly
home on Friday June 21, 2013 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. He was born
Jan. 2, 1935 in the Town of Wausau on the family farm, the son of the late
Julius and Ida Buss Ninnemann. On Sept. 4, 1954, he married Dolores A.
Zimmermann at Zion Lutheran Church in Wausau.

Jerry owned and operated the Campbellsport News from 1974 to 2004 never
missing an edition or column. Prior to this he worked at the Minocqua Lakeland
Press, the Hartford Times Press and the Menomonee Falls News. He was a member of
the Wisconsin Newspaper Association and the National Newspaper Association. He
served as the president of the Campbellsport School District Board for 6 years
and started the Campbellsport Scholarship Foundation with then School District
Administrator Joseph Bertone. He was a Boy Scout Leader, managed a baseball team
for the Milwaukee Federation of Lutheran Churches, a Little League coach,
Campbellsport Chamber of Commerce president, a charter member of the Friends of
the Kettle Moraine, and chairman and MC of the Campbellsport and Eden Lion’s
Club Roast for 20 years. He was appointed by Governor Tommy Thompson to the
Milwaukee River Council and served in the National Guard for 6 years during the
Korean War. Jerry was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Wings over Wisconsin,
National Turkey Federation, Whitetails Unlimited, and Pheasants Forever. He
loved the outdoors and hunted the marshes of Manitoba and Saskatchewan with a
group of friends for many years.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife Dolores, his
daughters Beth (Robert) Grossmeyer of Waukesha and Faith Krueger of
Campbellsport, his son James (Carol) of Campbellsport, his grandchildren
William, Kathryn, and Joshua Grossmeyer, Jessica Samphere, Anthony Ninnemann,
Jeremy, Sarah, and Samantha Krueger and Matthew and Joseph Ninnemann, and
Stephanie Grandlich. Five great grandchildren, his sisters Johanna Schultz and
Lois Narlock, his brother Gilbert (Betty) Ninnemann, his brother-in-law Myron
Storm, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his son
Gerald A., his son-in-law Michael Krueger, his brothers Merlin and Herbert, his
sisters Elora Storm and Elaine Devriendt, his brothers-in-law Arnold Schubring,
Leroy Schultz and Leroy Narlock and his sister-in-law Angie Ninnemann.

Visitation will be Tuesday June 25th from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at the Twohig
Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St. Campbellsport and on Wednesday June 26th from 9:00
AM until time of services at St. John’s Lutheran Church, New Fane (N665 County
Rd. S, Kewaskum). Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday June 26th at
the church with Rev. Mark Eckert officiating and burial to follow in St. John’s
