Gerardo “Jerry” Medina Jr

Gerardo
“Jerry” Medina Jr, 27, of Fond du Lac passed away Thursday January 30, 2014 due
to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born
October 6, 1986 in Fond du Lac the only child to Jerry Sr. and Jane DeLaRosa
Medina.

On September
8, 2012 he married Meredith Beres at Holy Family Church in Fond du Lac.

Jerry
graduated from Oakfield High School in 2005 as Senior Class President and was
most proud of his record setting football achievements.  Jerry continued many of his friendships that
he fostered in high school.

Jerry
received his B.A. in Legal Studies and Political Science at University of Wisconsin
Madison in 2009.  After graduation he was
accepted into University of Wisconsin Law School where he was a chair person
for the Sports and Entertainment Law Society and a member of the Latino Law
Students Association.  Jerry was admitted
to the Wisconsin State Bar in 2012.  He
was also admitted to practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh
Circuit, and the Eastern and Western U.S. District Courts.  In June 2012 he began practicing at Dempsey
Law in Oshkosh as an Associate Attorney. 
During his time in Oshkosh, he was professionally involved in Roteract,
Leadership Oshkosh, the Oshkosh Zoological Society, the Fond du Lac Bar
Association, and the Fox Valley Young Lawyers Association.

Jerry
enjoyed watching the Wisconsin Badgers, Milwaukee Brewers, and especially the
Dallas Cowboys every Sunday with his Dad. 
He also enjoyed the companionship of his two dogs, Marshall and Lucy and
his two cats, Scotch and Stewie.

Survivors
include his wife Meredith; parents Jerry and Jane Medina of Oakfield;
father-in-law and mother-in- law David and Christine Beres of Fond du Lac;
sister-in-law, Andrea Beres of Fond du Lac; paternal grandmother, Encarnacion
Medina of Fond du Lac and maternal grandmother, Pilar DeLaRosa of Fond du
Lac.  Jerry is further survived by many
Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, neighbors, co-workers, and friends.

He is
preceded in death by his grandpas, Jose Medina and John DeLaRosa and his cat Butters.

Visitation:  Family will receive relatives and friends on
Wednesday February 5, 2014 at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division from 3:00
to 8:00 pm.  There will also be
visitation at Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, on Thursday February
6, 2014, 9:30 to 11:00 am.

Service:  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
on Thursday February 6, 2014, 11:30 am at Holy Family Church.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

A memorial
in his name will be established.
