Gertrude Jost

Gertrude “Trudy” Jost, 95, of
Fond du Lac, went to meet her Lord on Tuesday, March 20, 2018.  Trudy was a resident at the Fond du Lac
Lutheran Home.

 

Trudy was born on August 7,
1922 in Spencer WI, daughter of the late Louis & Lydia (Krueger)
Bruesewitz. Trudy graduated from Spencer High School with the class of 1939. On
June 30, 1946 Gertrude married Joseph M. Jost at St. John’s Lutheran Church, in
Spencer WI.

 

Trudy was a devoted wife and
mother of four children that grew in her heart and not under her heart. She was
member of Immanuel-Trinity Church in Fond du Lac for 72 years where she served
as an usher, sang in the choir, taught Vacation Bible School and was a Stephen
Minister. She also belonged to the Dorcas, Ruth Circle and Prayer Circle. She
worked in the Grandparent program for over 10 years at Waters and Lakeshore
School and retired at the age of 90.  Trudy
loved to read, paint, travel, sew and do crossword puzzles. She was also an
avid Packer fan.

 

She is survived by two sons:
Steven of Mayville and Leon of Fond du Lac; two daughters: Linda Verfuerth
(Henry) of Howards Grove, Lisa Stuck (Mark) of Fond du Lac; seven
Grandchildren; Jeff Fleischfresser (Kim Lewis) of Sheboygan Falls, Jenni Claeys
of Holmen, Jason Fleischfresser of Sheboygan, Shawna Stuck (Joe Masteller) of
Fond du Lac, Colleen Stuck (Matt Harmer) of Sherwood, Andrew Verfuerth (Mollie
Jarrett) of Appleton, and Michael Verfuerth of Green Bay. She is further
survived by eight Great Grandchildren: Jordon Fleischfresser (Andrea Rusch) of
Green Bay, Courtney, Caden Claeys of Mosinee and Macryn of Holmen, Adalynn and
Austyn of Fond du Lac, and Mariska and Kenzie of Sherwood; her sister Vila
Kozik of Milwaukee and her good friend Doreen Andrews.

 

She was preceded in death by
her husband Joseph on November 10, 1999 and her sister Lorraine Seefeld and
twin infant brothers.

 

VISITATION: Friends may call
on Saturday, March 24, from 10:00 – 12:00 p.m. at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran
Church, 20 Wisconsin American Drive, Fond du Lac.

 

FUNERAL: A memorial service
will be held on Saturday, March 24, from 10:00 – 12:00 p.m. at Immanuel-Trinity
Lutheran Church, with Rev. Sue Sheffer-Meyer
officiating.  Inurnment will be
at Ledgeview Memorial Park.
