Gorgene Schill

Georgene (Hoffman) Schill born February 22, 1943 went to her eternal rest on December 3, 2017.

She was the daughter of Norbert (Nuss) and Florence (Bauer)Hoffman of Leroy, WI.

Georgene graduated from Mayville HS and on September 21, 1961 she married Gordon Schill of Campbellsport, WI.

They celebrated 56 years of marriage and enjoyed a life time of fun and happiness.

Georgene’s life was filled with wonder as she was able to travel to Egypt, Germany, Italy and Spain and vacationed in Mexico, Central American and the Islands of the Caribbean, as well as many of the 50 states.

Following a trip to Germany with her father, she planted “hop’s” and her love for gardening blossomed. For many years she assisted her brother and sister with a large garden on the property she grew up on and her friends and many nieces & nephews all benefited from her hard work.

Georgene worked in the office of Schill Motor, the family business, for most of her life.

Most recently she was an accountant at Campbellsport High School prior to retiring in December of 2008.

She was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church and was known for making the cherries for the Cherry Tree for every Fall Festival.

She served as a Director and Treasurer of the Campbellsport High School Scholarship Foundation and enjoyed meeting the high school applicants and discussing their future education and career plans.

Georgene loved playing dominoes which she played with Gordie and her girlfriends on a regular basis.

Georgene touched so many lives with her love and generosity.

Her home and pool was always open for nieces and nephews and later their spouses and their children.

She was always willing to host the family parties and their home was everyone’s home away from home.

So many people were touched by her gift of caring and giving for which we are all forever grateful.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Norbert Hoffman, an infant sister, her in-laws Cornelius and Rose Schill, her sister in-laws Arlyne Hoffman, Dolores Sklener and Mary Schill.

She is survived by brothers Neal Hoffman and Dale Hoffman of LeRoy, her sisters Sally (Warren) Durbeck of Arlington, VA, Judy (Joe) Perrizo of Fond du Lac and Jane (Joe) Kundinger of Park Falls, WI.

Other survivors include Gerald Schill, Marjorie Miller; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and even great-great nieces and nephews.

Twohig Funeral Home is assisting the family with online guestbook and condolences at www.twohigfunerals.com

Cremation has occurred and family members will honor Georgene’s final wishes privately.

On behalf of Gordie, the Hoffman family and all who ever loved Georgene we are forever thankful to Tyler and Mollie Schill for their daily care and tenderness of Georgene.

Angels are the guardians of hope and wonder, the keepers of magic and dreams.

Angels watch over you wherever you go keeping each day perfect and promising a bright new tomorrow.

Wherever there is love, an Angel is flying by.

Georgene was an Angel in so many of our lives, she will continue to grace us with every step we take, just as she did during her life time.
