Gottlieb (Joe) Bickelhaupt

Gottlieb (Joe)Joseph Bickelhaupt, 68, went home to the Lord, Wednesday, December 12, 2018. Son of the late Gottlieb and Gloria Snow Bickelhaupt was born January 30, 1950 in Fond du Lac. He attended St. Mary’s School and graduated from Goodrich High School. Joe was employed at Mercury Marine for 42 years and retired in 2011. Surviving, his wife, Joan Vils Bickelhaupt; children: Joseph (Angela) Bickelhaupt, Jill (Drew) Dawson, Jennifer (Thomas) McCue and Jennifer (Mark) Hawley; grandchildren: Karli and Kori Hinkley, Jordan, Matthew and Lindsey Bickelhaupt, Allie and Zach Hawley, Joshua and Alyssa Dawson and Kathryn, Hayden, Cole and Grace McCue. Also surviving are his siblings Jeff (Paula) Bickelhaupt, Judy Bickelhaupt, Jerrold Bickelhaupt. His in-laws: William (Von) Vils, Mark (Yvonne) Vils, Irma (Claude) Radermacher, Thomas (Amy) Vils, Genevieve (Michael) Fehrenbach, Monica (Jessie) Brawner. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, his stepfather Raymond Mueller, his brother James, grandchildren Jaclyn Hawley and Kurt Jr. Hinkley, his children Jamie Morgan and Julie Morgan Hinkley, son-in-law Kurt Hinkley, brother-in-laws Herb and David Vils. Joe loved spending time with his big family, loved Genealogy and was always looking into anyone’s family roots when asked. He enjoyed living on the lake, his puppy Sadie and watching National Geographic shows and Life Below Zero. We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the doctors and nurses at the Agnesian Cancer Center. And most importantly to thank those that supported our family in prayers, words and kindness this past year. His giving heart and compassion for helping others was a servant example that will carry on his legacy forever. On December 12th, 2018 the Lord welcomed Gottlieb into heaven with the words “Well done, my good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21). VISITATION: Friends may call on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac.

FUNERAL: Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Parish. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
