Harold “Duane” D. Piper

Harold “Duane” D. Piper, 78,
of Fond du Lac, died Thursday, June 25, 2015, at St. Agnes Hospital.

 

He was born on May 25, 1937,
in Flemington, Missouri, a son of Harold W. and Laura A. Allison Piper.

 

Duane served with the United
States Army Reserves.

 

On June 19, 1993, he married Karen
A. (Smested) Miller in Fond du Lac.

 

Duane was an ink technician
with Sun Chemical in Menomonee Falls. 
After his retirement from Sun Chemical, he worked at the Little Farmer for
over ten years.  He was a member of Salem
United Methodist Church, an excellent woodworker, and a “stand-up guy”.

 

He is survived by his wife,
Karen; a daughter, Missy (Ryan) Propper of West Bend; a stepdaughter, Kori
(Chris) Pelley of Portland, Maine; four grandchildren:  Greta, Griffin, Nolan, and Kira; a sister,
Shirley (Jerry) Emanuel of St. Louis, Missouri; two brothers:  Don (Marilyn) Piper of Georgetown, Texas, and
Gaylord (Lorna) Piper of Flemington, Missouri; and a sister-in-law, Sharon
Piper of Humansville, Missouri.

 

He was preceded in death by
his parents; first wife, Mary Griffin Piper; and a brother, Caroll Piper.

 

At Harold’s request, there
will be no visitation or service locally. 
Graveside inurnment service will be held at a later date at Salem
Cemetery, Cliquot, Missouri.
