Helen A. Buehner

Helen A. Buehner, age 95, formerly of 178 E. Scott St., Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, died March 7, 2014, at Grancare Nursing Home, where she resided the past 21 months.  She was born February 3, 1919, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Fred and Anna (Kaiser) Schneider.

 

She married Elmer F. Buehner on August 2, 1943, in West Palm Beach, Fla.

She was a graduate of Winnebago Lutheran Academy and a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac.

Helen was the beloved mother of Ann H. Averbeck of Fond du Lac and Jill L. Buehner of Madison; the beloved grandmother of Rebecca (Ryan) Kanable of Milton and Lee (Sarah) Averbeck of Minneapolis, Minn.; and the beloved great-grandmother of Spencer and Sydney Kanable and Frederick (Fritz) Averbeck.

She was predeceased by her husband Elmer F. Buehner (October 15, 1999) and her one sister Eldine Fischer.  She is survived by cousins Frieda Birkheim, Mollie Hoaglin, and Wayne Kaiser.

The funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 1600 South Main Street, Fond du Lac, with Rev. Matthew Guse officiating.  

The visitation will be on Tuesday at church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.   

Burial will follow in Estabrooks Cemetery.

We wish to express our gratitude to Helen’s wonderful physicians and nurses and especially to the Grancare staff for the compassionate care they gave Helen in her last years.
