Irene C. Springborn

Irene C. Springborn,
83, of Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Froedtert Memorial
Lutheran Hospital, Milwaukee, WI.  She
was born August 23, 1931 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Paul C. and Lillian M.
Manthey Ehlert.  On September 6, 1952 she
married Robert C. Springborn in Fond du Lac and he preceded her in death on
September 3, 2000.  Irene was a graduate
of Fond du Lac Senior High School, Class of 1950.  She was employed as a sales clerk with True
Value Hardware Store in Fond du Lac for 17 years, retiring on August 1,
1996.  Irene was a member of Pilgrim
United Church of Christ and a Past President of the Eagles Auxillary.  She was also a past president of the
Wednesday Night Karl Ray Women’s Bowling League and Secretary for the Christian
Board of Education for the city of Fond du Lac. 
Beginning in 1947 Irene was a very active member at Church of Peace
including, Sunday school teacher, superintendant of Sunday school, president of
the Martha Society, and secretary/treasurer of the Couples Club.

 

She is survived by her
companion, Wayne Trepanier of Fond du Lac; one daughter, Donna (James) Henslin
of Ripon; one son, Roger (Deborah) Springborn of Fond du Lac; four
grandchildren, Kyle (Theresa) Henslin, Tyler Henslin, Robert (Stephanie)
Springborn, and Jennifer (fiancé, Daniel Zirber) Springborn; one great
grandson, Parker Henslin.  She is further
survived by one sister-in-law, Grace Springborn of Fond du Lac; one
brother-in-law, Duane (Florence) Springborn of Pickett; nieces, nephews, other
relatives and many friends.  She was
preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister; two brothers-in-law,
Willard Springborn and Cliff (Avis) Sampson.

 

Visitation will be
held on Sunday, September 21, 2014 from 12 noon – 3:00 pm at Uecker-Witt
Funeral Home.  The funeral service will
be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home
with Rev. Ted Drewsen officiating. 
Burial will follow in Rosendale Cemetery.

 

A memorial is being
established in Irene’s name.
