Irmin H. Criter

Irmin “Irmie” Henry Criter, 92, ten days shy of his 93rd
birthday, a former resident of Pipe, Wisconsin, passed away November 10, 2016
at Touchstone Living Center in North Fond du Lac. He was born on November 20,
1923 to the late Elmer and Gertrude Criter.

On May 3, 1945 he married Elvira “Vi” Schmitz at Holy
Trinity Catholic Church, Jericho.  She
passed away in December 2011.

Irmie was a graduate of Chilton High School. He then served
in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific in 1945 as Medical Sargent. Irmie was a
truck driver for a coal delivery service in Green Bay, WI and a milk hauler for
Lake to Lake Dairy in Kiel, WI. He then was a superintendent for Tecumseh
Products in New Holstein, for the majority of his working years. He was a
retired volunteer fire fighter for the Calumet County Fire Department and
Ambulance Service.  He was a member of
St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg where he served as usher and
member of the Holy Name Society. He was a member of the American Legion Post
#454 of Mt. Calvary.

Irmie and Vi were known to reach out to their community with
many kind acts of service. They loved to care for their flowers and yard
together. He was a part of the Good Samaritan Guild and the Pipe Area Senior
Citizens Group with Vi. Fishing was one of his favorite pass times.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth (Barbara) Criter of
Denver, CO and Gary (Sandra) Criter of Ely, MN; and one daughter, Joan
(Stephan) Bohlman of Middleton, WI; grandchildren, Kurt and Kip (Nikki) Criter,
Cory (Jenny) Criter and Paula Gray, Kristin (Matt) Sorensen, Lindsay (Rob)
Borland, and Mary Jo (Matt) Kronberger and nine great-grandchildren. He is
further survived by a brother, Jerry (Rose) of Jericho; a sister, Judy (Frank) Fuhrman
of Las Vegas, NV, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vi; two daughters,
Janice and Patty Criter; two sisters, Merlyn Kennedy and Shirley Schwantes and
a brother, Donald.

Visitation:
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 5:30 to 7:00 PM at
the Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St., Fond du Lac. Visitation will
also be held on Friday, November 18, 2016, at St. John the Baptist Catholic
Church, Johnsburg, from 9:00 to 9:45 AM.

Services: A Mass
of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 10:00 AM
at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to American Heart Association and
the Alzheimer’s Association.
