Janice Prill

Janice Prill, 71, of Alto, peacefully passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013 surrounded by her family at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.

Janice was born January 9, 1942 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Harold and Therassa Vande Zande Kemink. Janice was a graduate of Waupun High School in 1960. Following graduation she worked in Madison for ten years for the state and federal government. On July 31, 1971 she married Lowell Prill. Following their marriage the couple resided in Alto all of their married lives. Jan provided child care in her home for several years and then worked at East Central Select in Waupun from which she retired after 20 years. She was a life member of Alto Reformed Church where she was active in Women’s Missionary Circle, taught Sunday School, was a leader of the Girls League, and was a member of the choir, Golden Lifers, and a board member of the Old Stone Congregational Church. Janice was also an Alto 4H leader for many years. Jan enjoyed spending time with her family, beloved grandchildren, and friends. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, and reading.

Janice is survived by her husband of 42 years, Lowell Prill of Alto; two daughters, Sarah (Toby) Goecks of McFarland, Andrea (Tom) Isenbarger of Madison; her five beloved grandchildren, Emma, Chloe, and Isaac Goecks, and Charlotte and Margo Isenbarger; three sisters, Kathy (Bob) Flier of rural Waupun, Sue Bos of rural Waupun, and Pauline (Steve) Peters of rural Brandon; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bruce (Cindy) Henning of Alto; and many nieces and nephews.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Norie Henning; a brother-in-law, Cal Bos; and an unborn grandchild.

Funeral services for Janice Prill will be held Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Alto Reformed Church in Alto with Rev. Ted Medema and Rev. Ted Lindman officiating. Burial will follow at Alto Cemetery. Friends and relatives of Jan Prill may call on the family on Wednesday evening at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 4-7 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
