Jerome A. Schuchardt

Jerome A. Schuchardt, 83, of Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Theda Clark Medical Center,
Neenah
surrounded by his loving family.

 

He was born on March 26,
1931, in Fond du Lac,
a son of Ulysses S. and Virginia D. Mayrand Schuchardt.  

 

He graduated in 1949 from Fond du Lac Senior High School.  Jerry served with the Wisconsin National
Guard.

 

On February 23, 1952, he
married Mona M. Ericksen at First Presbyterian Church, Fond du Lac.

 

Jerry joined his father in
the insurance business in 1950, and when his father died in 1963, he continued
to operate the business until his retirement in 1996.  His son, Steve, continues the business, which
is over 120 years old, and currently the oldest insurance agency in Wisconsin.  He was a member of Professional Insurance
Agents and Independent Agents of Wisconsin. 

 

He was a member of the
Cathedral Church of St. Paul.  In Jerry’s
younger years, he loved to bring the family camping.  His patience in showing his children how to
swim and fish was endless.  Jerry also
loved to hunt and had many wonderful hunting trips with his family and
friends.  He enjoyed going to the cottage
and visiting with friends there.  Jerry
will be sadly missed by all whose lives he touched.

 

He is survived by four
children:  Debra (Michael) Hackbarth of
Fond du Lac, Diane (Mark) Theyerl of Rosendale, Steven (Maureen) Schuchardt of
Fond du Lac, and Sheri (Rolly Maul) Meyers of Cascade; six grandchildren:  Ted (Katie) Theyerl, Jack (Deanna)Theyerl,
Jerome D.(Kirsten) Schuchardt, Meghan (fiancé Patrick Will) Hackbarth, Dana (Jon)
Cubitt, and Mitchell (Katie) Meyers; great-grandchildren: Teegan and Kiefer Theyerl,
Brady and Cole Theyerl,  Morgan
Schuchardt, Liam Will, Carter and Mason Meyers; 
special friend, Barbara Shamrock;   nieces
and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by
his parents; his wife, Mona, on February 8, 1999, a sister, Betty (Hugh) McCoy;
a brother, Robert Schuchardt; and a brother-in-law, H. Dan (Marge) Ericksen,
Jr.

 

The funeral service will be
held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 4, 2014, at the Cathedral Church of St.
Paul, 51 West Division Street,
Fond du Lac
, with Fr. Brian Beno and
Rev. Michael  Hackbarth officiating.

 

The visitation will be from
4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, 2014, at Mach Funeral Chapel &
Crematory, 31 East Division Street,
Fond du Lac
, and on Monday at
church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

 

Burial will be in Rienzi Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials
may be directed to the family.
