JoAnne (Schroeder) Steenberg

JoAnne
(Schroeder) Steenberg unexpectedly passed away at her home on Sunday, October
26, 2014 at the age of 72.  JoAnne was
born on October 12, 1942 in Plymouth
to Alvin and Dorothy (Harder) Schroeder and was raised on a farm in
Greenbush.  She attended Spring Valley Grade School
in the town of Greenbush and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1960.  JoAnne went on to cosmetology school in Green Bay and became a beautician and later salon manager
at the Fond du Lac
Store Beauty Salon.  JoAnne was united in
marriage with Robert Steenberg on May 27, 1967 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in
Fond du Lac.

Through the
years, JoAnne had many interests and hobbies, some of which included horses,
sports cars, traveling, flower gardening, decorating and cooking.  JoAnne had a wonderful talent with her
beautiful flowers and flower gardens and spent countless hours in her yard
tending to them. She was an amazing homemaker and cook that was proud to and
loved taking care of her family.  Nothing
made JoAnne happier than taking care of her grandchildren.  JoAnne was active as a poll worker for many
years and as a volunteer for numerous activities throughout the community with
her church, Church of Peace, Fond
du Lac.  She
enjoyed attending rummage/craft sales with her husband and fine dining at many
area supper clubs.

JoAnne is
survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert, sons Todd (Tami Wolf) and Chad
(Sarah) of Fond du Lac, grandchildren Noah, Grace and Reed,  one sister Judith (William) Helmer of
Plymouth, nephews John (Lynn) Helmer, James (Anne) Helmer, Jeffrey Steenberg,
nieces Julie (Ron Thompson) Steenberg, and Shelly (Ross) Masters.  She is also survived by numerous great
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was
preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Dorothy Schroeder, father and mother
in law Herbert and Sally Steenberg, and brother in law William Steenberg.

Visitation:  Family will receive relatives and friends at
the Church of Peace, 158 S. Military Rd, Fond du Lac,
on Saturday, November 1, 2014, 9:00 to 11:45 a.m.

Service:  The funeral service will be on Saturday at Church of Peace at 12:00 Noon.  Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of
flowers, a memorial in her name will be established.
