John F. Venturini

John F. Venturini, 70, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, June 12, 2018 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee after a short battle with cancer.

He was born in Houghton, Michigan on July 2, 1948, the son of Pasquale “Chee Chee” and Margaret (nee Branstrom) Venturini.

On August 24, 1968, John married the love of his life, Jeanne Treiber, at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Campbellsport.

He and Jeanne settled in North Fond du Lac for most of their married life.

John was a graduate of Campbellsport High School and University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

At 8 years old John started delivering the Milwaukee Journal in Campbellsport and was never without a job, developing a great work habit.

John began employment at the Stretch Truck Stop in college and continued to work there and with O’Connor Oil Corporation, eventually becoming one of the owners.

He had a great passion for baseball and softball, playing for a number of different teams.

He found great joy in coaching Little League and later the North Fond du Lac High School baseball team.

John was a dedicated fan of the Detroit Lions and the Milwaukee Brewers.

He enjoyed travelling with Jeanne and also enjoyed the “baseball” trips he took with his brothers and son.

John’s real love and greatest joy was his family; spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, brothers and many friends!

He had the insight to see what others needed to “fulfill” something in them!

We hope he knew how precious he was to all of us!

Survivors include his wife of nearly 50 years, Jeanne; son Nick (Rachel) of Las Vegas, NV, daughter, Karen (Mike) Seifert of Pewaukee, grandchildren Giana Jane and Bella Joy Venturini and Jonathan Michael, Lauren Grace and Jacob Jay Seifert, brothers; Eugene (Marian) of Campbellsport, Patrick (Brenda) of Beloit, Michael (Lori) of Jonesville, MI, and Peter (Kandace) of Beloit; sister-in-law Julie Treiber of Fond du Lac, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws Melvin and Irene “Rene” Treiber.

A private family entombment will be Wednesday at Calvary Cemetery, Fond du Lac.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 17th from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at St. Matthew Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to North Fond du Lac Baseball or the charity of your choice.
