John R. Krug

John R. Krug, 85, of Campbellsport went home to his Lord on Tuesday March 1, 2016 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. He was born on September 22, 1930 in the Town of Forest, the son of the late Walter and Viola (Wimmler) Krug. On October 19, 1957, John married Elaine A. Marx at St. Matthews Church in Campbellsport. John operated a Milk route and ran trucks for Mammoth Springs Canning Factory. After his marriage, they farmed in the Town of Eden and then in 1968 they purchased a farm near Wayne and farmed there until the fall of 1995. Farming was the love of John’s life. They moved to Campbellsport and John delivered fertilizer for Gundrums, was a night watchman for Fond du Lac County and worked at the Great Northern Sales Barn in Fond du Lac. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Campbellsport and a 20 year member of the Empire Threshing Association.




 




Survivors include his wife Elaine, his son Bill of Kewaskum, his sister Florence Riedel of Fond du Lac, his sisters-in-law Joan Chittum of Wausau, Charlene Phillips of Fond du Lac, Mary (Leander) Herriges of Wayne, Geraldine (Raymond) Bodden of Kewaskum and Patricia Marx of Manitowoc, his brother-in-law Clarence (Barb) Marx of Fond du Lac, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.




John was preceded in death by his sisters Mildred (Clarence) Vogt and Marcella (Leroy) Bechler, his brother Oral Krug and his brother-in-law Ed Riedel.




Funeral services will be held on Friday March 4th at 6:00 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 350 S. Helena St. Campbellsport. Rev. Paul Cerny will officiate and entombment will be at 10:00 AM Saturday March 5th at Ledgeview Memorial Park in Fond du Lac.




Visitation will be Friday March 4th from 3:00 PM until time of services at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Memorials are appreciated to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
