Jose H. “Joe” Pina
Jose H. “Joe” Pina, 58, passed away on April 22, 2015 at his home in Sauk Village, IL. He was born on February 13, 1957 in Cape Verde Island to Jose F. and Elisa H. (Barros) DePina.
Joe married Luann Bernath on September 2, 2000 at the Church of Peace in Fond du Lac.
Joe was a 1st Sergeant in the US Marine Corp and he retired after 25 years of service. He then started his second career with Menards where he worked until his death. Joe enjoyed spending time with his family as well as building and riding his trike motorcycle. Joe and Luann have traveled yearly trips on his trike motorcycle. Joe was an avid soccer, Packer fan and enjoyed watching westerns. He was always willing to give a helping hand.
Joe is survived by his wife Luann; his parents; daughter, Mary Elisa Pina; stepson, Russel (Jennifer) Brewton; two step grandchildren, Maggie and Thomas; five sisters, Maria (Eduino) Fontes, Anna Maranda, Nilsa (Fernado) Soares, Magda (Taher) Alalame and Elisa DePina; two brothers, Jorge and Eduordo DePina. He is further survived by brother-in-law, Randy (Sherry) Bernath; two sisters-in-law, Susan (Steve) Nett and Nancy (Terry) Steffen and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Joe is preceded in death by one brother, David DePina.
Visitation: Joe’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St., Fond du Lac on Monday, April 27, 2015 from 2:00 PM until 3:45 PM.
Services: A funeral service at 4:00 PM, with full military honors, will be held on Monday, at the funeral home following the visitation. Cremation will take place after the services.
