Joshua F. Stuhr

Joshua F. Stuhr, age 34, of Oshkosh (formerly of Marion) passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Fond du Lac County. 



Joshua Francis Stuhr was born October 25, 1980 at New London hospital to Bruce and Jackie (Young) Stuhr. Joshua was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Marion, and graduated from Marion High School in 1999. While in high school he enjoyed playing football and baseball, and performing in school plays. Joshua went to Minnesota State University, Mankato, where he received a degree in Athletic Training. He worked for a short time as a sports trainer at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. In 2009 he relocated to take a job as an athletic trainer with the University of Alabama in Huntsville where he was employed for four years. While living in Alabama he met his wife, Yuki Kurihara, and the couple was united in marriage on July 27, 2012 in Marion. After marriage, they made their home in Oshkosh and Joshua started as a trainer at Marian University in Fond du Lac. He was currently working on his Master’s Degree in Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention through California University of Pennsylvania. Joshua worked with several different sports but spent much of his time with the Hockey Programs at the schools he served. He was always very active, running every day, competing in half marathons, and playing golf whenever he could. His other interests included fishing, helping the Michonski Racing Team as a pit crew member, and working on muscle cars in his spare time, especially Ford Mustangs. Joshua loved spending time with his wife, Yuki, his son, Joshua, Dad, Mom, Joe, Melissa, special nephew Jaden, special niece Ella, other relatives, friends, and extended families from Minnesota and Alabama; and will be deeply missed by everyone. 



Survivors include his wife, Yuki, a son, Joshua Chapman-Stuhr, his parents, Bruce & Jackie Stuhr of Marion, and his father and mother-in-law, Sadayuki and Yoshimi Kurihara in Saitama, Japan. He is also survived by his brother, Joe (Melissa) Stuhr of Marion, a nephew, Jaden, and a niece, Ella; his maternal grandfather, Norman (Carol) Young of Marion; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Joshua is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Joan Young, and his paternal grandparents, Elmer & Helen Stuhr. 



A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 31st at 12:00 Noon at St. John Lutheran Church, Marion, with Rev. Bradley Dokken officiating. Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time service, both days at the church. The Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Marion, is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to the Stuhr Family for a fund which will be established in Joshua’s name.
