Joyce A. Hills

Joyce Ann Hills, 86, of North
Fond du Lac, died on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at St. Agnes Hospital.

 

She was born September 16,
1931, in West Van Lear, Kentucky, a daughter of Robert and Dorothy Robinson
Hall.  On September 19, 1952, she married
Kenneth Hills at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Fond du Lac. He
preceded her in death on October 18, 2006.

 

Joyce pursued a career with
Wisconsin Bell, in Fond du Lac, which later became Ameritech/SBC, as an
operator and service assistant.  She was
very dedicated to her responsibilities. Joyce never missed a day of work in 34
years! She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Fond
du Lac, and was a member of Ladies Aid, and volunteered in other church
activities.  She enjoyed watching NASCAR
“watching the cars go around,” shopping and traveling the world with her
beloved sisters.

 

Survivors include her son,
James Hills of North Fond du Lac; two grandchildren, Chad Hills  (special friend Michelle) of North Fond du Lac
and Lisa (Jeffrey) Lauritzen of Altamont, IL; four great grandchildren: Logan,
Aiden, Addie and Alivia; her brother Robert E. Hall Jr., of Canby, OR; two
sister in laws: Nancy Hills of  Arden, North
Carolina and Elaine Hills of Kronenwetter, Wisconsin; many nieces and nephews; and
many special friends including the Dave (Nancy) Goldapske family of North Fond
du Lac and Cynthia Krenn of North Fond du Lac.

 

Joyce was preceded in death
by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; her daughter, Robyn; her son, Kenneth Jr;
her sisters: Kathryn Stiletti, Doris (James) Whalen and Sharon Lee (Matt)
Rimmer; her brother, John Hall; and a sister in law, Doty Hall.

 

VISITATION: Friends may call
on Saturday, October 28, 2017, from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. at Kurki-Mach Funeral
Chapel, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac.

 

FUNERAL: Funeral services
will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Kurki-Mach Funeral
Chapel, with Rev. Michael Kampman officiating. 
Burial will follow in Estabrooks Cemetery. 

 

The family would like to
extend a special thanks to the staff of St. Agnes Hospital, Agnesian Hospice,
Pastors Thomas Behnke and Michael Kampman, and the many friends who assisted during
this difficult time.

 

In lieu of flowers the family
requests memorials to be made in Joyce’s name to St. Paul’s Evangelical
Lutheran Church, North Fond du Lac.
