Katherine ”Mutz” Ann Willis

Katherine ”Mutz”  Ann Willis, 80, of Fond du Lac, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013, at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. 

 

She was born on February 26, 1932, in Osceola, Wisconsin, the daughter of Martin and Katherine Schwind Tonn.

 

On April 7, 1951, Katherine married Lige “Bob” Willis in Ogden, Utah.

 

Katherine was employed at Infant Socks, Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, and Dairy Queen. She then became a full time stay at home mom to raise her six children.  She returned to the workforce, at the young age of 60, to join the team at Goodwill Industries.

 

Survivors include five daughters and one son:  Rebecca (Greg) Harding of Fond du Lac, Mark (Tina) Willis of North Fond du Lac, Cynthia (Roland) Lemke of Hayward, Brenda (DuWayne) Woelfel of Fond du Lac, Carmen (Randall) Bonlender of Lomira, and Margaret Willis of Appleton, seventeen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Scannell.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob, on March 2, 1992; two brothers, three sisters, and two sons-in-law: Jay Kremer (Cynthia Lemke) and Gene K. Maloney (Brenda Woelfel).

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2013,                 at Holy Family Parish, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac.

 

Katherine’s family will receive friends and relatives from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac, and on Thursday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.   Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.


Katherine’s family is grateful to all the staff members of the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home, Agnesian Hospice, the ICU and the 5th Floor of St. Agnes Hospital for their compassionate care for Katherine and her family
.

 

Katherine’s family extends their heartfelt appreciation to Heather Herbeck, granddaughter of Katherine, for the care, compassion and kindness she gave and shared with her grandmother over the past months.  The companionship, comfort, and consideration provided by Heather can only be matched by the love she had for her grandmother.
