Ken “The Big K” Richardson

Ken “The Big K”, 80, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, May 7, 2013.

Ken was born November 5, 1932 in Fond du Lac a son of William and Florence Polus Richardson.

Mr. Richardson served in the United States Air Force and was looking forward to going to Washington, DC on the “Old Glory Honor Flight” to see the Korean War Memorial.  He was also a very proud member of the Trier-Puddy American Legion Post 75 and was a member of the “Honor Guard”.  He very seldom missed a funeral to honor a fallen veteran.  This was his world.

He was employed with ABC Supply until his retirement.

Ken had many hobbies including wood working, camping, doing jig-saw puzzles, fishing, watching a good mystery movie, coffee with friends at the Gratitude Club and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his seven children: Brenda (Mark) Schuster of Princeton, Michael (Deb) Richardson of Codatt, Gary (Cathy) Richardson of Fond du Lac, Catherine (Michael) Crook of Markesan, Karen (Tom) Greutzmacher of Fond du Lac, Debbie (Friend Mike) Richardson of Superior and Kenneth Jr. (Brenda) Richardson of Fond du Lac; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; his sister-in-law Patrica Muckerhide; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his former wife Irene and two brothers: Bernard and Clifford.

Visitation:  Family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, May 10, 2013 from 3:00 to 4:45 pm at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St. Fond du Lac.

Service:  A funeral service for Ken will be held at Zacherl Funeral Home on Friday at 5:00 pm followed with the American Legion Honor Guard conducting military honors.  Cremation will follow the service with interment of cremains at Calvary Cemetery.
