LaNore Lang

LaNore Lang passed away peacefully on June 29, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Melvin and Hazel Oleson and born on June 30, 1917 in Mosinee, Wisconsin. 



She was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point in Home Economics and Social Science. After a number of years of teaching, she had five children. She dedicated much of her time and many talents to community organizations and projects. 



Some of LaNore’s contributions are her leadership in the Blackhawk Girl Scout Council for over 23 years and her volunteerism of 12 years in the first chapter in the Campbellsport area Hospice. She participated and had officer positions for many decades in the Federated Women’s Club, American Legion, Washington County Graduate Home Economists and St. Matthew’s Christian Women’s Club. 



Many local brides benefitted from LaNore’s exceptional sewing talents and style. She had a natural talent and love for flowers and gourmet cooking. During some of her parties, 

she out did Martha Stewart. LaNore loved to entertain and open her house to friends and neighbors during the holidays. 



LaNore had a passion for traveling to Europe and the Phillipines and was fortunate to accomplish her dreams. Her travels included visiting her two Filipino sons and her in-laws in Germany. 



She is survived by her five children; Merlin (Carol Hennig) of Waupaca, Mary Lang Sollinger (Hans) of Madison, Jane Schmidt (Robert) of Richmond, Virginia, John Lang of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Margie Smith (Sam) of St. Louis, Missouri and grandchildren, Jason, Becky, Nicola, Muffy, Lindy, Craig, Brian, and four great grandchildren. LaNore is preceded in death by her husband, Leo.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wed. July 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 406 E. Main St. Campbellsport. Rev. John Radetski will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be Wed. July 2nd from 10:00 AM until time of mass at the church.
