Larry W. Laning

Larry
Wilbur Laning, 68, of Brandon died Friday, November 17, 2017 in his home.
 He was born July 20, 1949 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, the son of Wilbur
and Esther Laning. He owned a dairy parlor installation company, Laning Dairy
Supply and Equipment and was a graduate of Rosendale High School.  Larry
was a Vietnam War veteran, having served in 7 campaigns of the Vietnam War.
While serving, he earned two Bronze Stars, one for heroism in ground combat, a
Silver Star, an Army Commendation Medal, a National Defense Service Medal, and
a Purple Heart.

 

Larry is survived by four children: Amie Laning of Rosendale,
Erick Laning of Rosendale, Adam Laning of Pueblo West, CO and Amanda (Andrew)
Menting of Hortonville; nine grandchildren: Noelle Hitz, River Falls, Evelynn
Hitz, Eau Claire, Aliza Hitz, Oshkosh, Jonah Laning, Rosendale, Autumn Laning
Wood, St. Cloud, Sierra Laning, Fond du Lac, Amelia Menting, Hortonville,
Harvey Menting, Hortonville, and Florence Menting, Hortonville; five sisters:
Sharon (Jack) Borchardt, Fond du Lac, Beverly Laning, Carslbad, CA, Joan
(Lloyd) Chapman, Rosendale, Ardell “Mooch” (William “Wilbur”) Simon, Eldorado,
and Lynn Laning (Larry Weisensel), Greenville; and eight nieces and nephews,
Todd Borchardt, Ripon, Shelly (Mark) Hoppe, St. Paul, MN, Elena Laning, San Diego,
CA, Heather (Christopher) Hall, La Crosse, Erin (Michael) Maxwell, Fond du Lac,
Jacob (Nicole) Simon, Waubeka, Jared Simon, Richfield and Jenna Simon, Madison.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 4 to 7 P.M. at
Kurki-Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du
Lac.  A final military salute will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017
at the Rosendale Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family has chosen to
have memorials made to the Appleton VA Medical Center Mental Health Program.
