Laura W. Braun

Laura W. Braun, 92, formerly of St. Peter, passed away on June 8, 2014 at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home (formerly of Villa Rosa).

She was born in the town of Marshfield, the eldest daughter of Albert and Theresa (Langenfeld) Casper, on August 6, 1921.

On November 27, 1941, Laura married Gerald Braun at St. John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg by the Rev. Henry Langenfeld, Laura’s uncle.

Laura worked at Taycheedah Correctional Institution for 22 years. She was a homemaker and loved nothing more than to cook, throw parties and make people happy with her food and hospitality.

Laura is survived by her son Roger (Karen) Braun of St. Peter; one brother Bill (Kathy) Casper; two sisters, Patricia (Dick) Fritz and Mary Lou (Vic) Schneider; grandchildren, Jeff (Tina) Braun, Julie (Todd) Bonack, Jodie (Jef) Burg and Jennie (Chris) Schneider; 11 great grandchildren; five step great grandchildren and one step great great granddaughter. She is further survived by many special nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded on death by her husband of 70 years, Gerald, who passed away February 18, 2012; three infant children, Richard, Diane and Annie; her parents, Albert and Theresa; sister, Betty (Elmer) Kraus; brothers, Robert (Pat) Casper and Donald (Celine) Casper; sister-in-law, Bernadette; brothers-in-law, Cyril Braun, Roman (Helen)Braun, Joe (Dorothy) Braun, Sylvester (Betty) (Lil) Braun and Francis Nett.

Visitation: Laura’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday June 12, 2014 from 9:00 to 10:45AM at St. Peter Catholic Church, N8079 Church Rd, in the Village of St. Peter.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Thursday June 12, 2014 at St. Peter Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations or memorials to the family for the benefit of; the National MS Society (in honor of great granddaughter Alicia), the MACC Fund (in honor of great grandson Isaac), the Villa Loretto/Villa Rosa or Fr. Mike Bertram.
