Laureen “Laurie” Clark

Laureen “Laurie” Clark

On Sunday, January 26, 2014, our beloved Laurie Clark, 68, passed on after a rapid decline from an invasive brain mass at Hospice Home of Hope, Fond du Lac.

Laurie (nee Laureen Mae Bosveld) was born on June 15, 1945, to Bill and Irene Thompson Bosveld, the first of seven siblings.  After growing up in a country/farming environment, and graduating in 1963 from Berlin High School, Laurie moved to Chicago and started on an Adventure called Life.  As Laurie was heard to frequently say, “I’ve had more fun than should be legally allowed”.

Most recently, Laurie had her own massage therapy business in Appleton.  Her magic hands healed and comforted many clients while entertaining them with stories and words of lessons learned from her life.  She was also known for her love of gardening, bird watching, and owl feeding.  Prior to living in Appleton, she worked, lived, laughed, and loved her way through Berlin, Omro, Reno, Durango, Chicago, and more places than we can remember.

Laurie is survived by her beloved son, Anthony Barton Clark of Oshkosh; two grandsons:  Michael and Matthew Clark of Stevens Point; two brothers:  Marvin (Julie) Bosveld of Fond du Lac, and Raymond Bosveld of Berlin; two sisters:  Ruth (Lee) Redmon of Yerington, Nevada, and Katrinka (Doug) Schroeder Mattick of Bloomington, Indiana; and she was Auntie Laurie to numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Irene Bosveld, in 2002; and two brothers:  Kenneth in 1997 and Dale in 1993.

Although Laurie will be dearly missed by her family and multitude of friends, another one of her sayings was, “when there’s no more quality, we don’t need any more quantity”.

We would like to express a very special thank you to the staff at Hospice Home of Hope for the exceptional care given to our precious Laurie.

Visitation and fellowship will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., concluding with a brief farewell ceremony.  Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory is serving the family, www.machfuneralchapel.com.
