LaVerne R. Braun

LaVerne R. Braun, 89, of St. Peter and currently a resident of St. Francis Terrace, Fond du Lac, died Saturday, January 31, 2015. She was born December 21, 1925 in Dotyville, the daughter of Casper C. and Rose A. Mullenbach Schaefer. On April 4, 1951 she married Alphonse R. Braun at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Dotyville. LaVerne was a lifelong member of St. Peter Catholic Church and was active in Altar Society, Mission Quilting, and Catholic Knights Branch 19. She enjoyed cooking andbaking for family, especially her chocolate chip cookies and casino trips.



She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Rux of McFarland, WI, and her son, Jeremiah (Heidi) Rux, and their children, Cade and Lukas; Chris (Kurt) Rockweit of Fond du Lac, and their two daughters, Shauna (Mike) Zimmerman, and their children, Rachel, Eli, Kate, Nate and Sheri (Tim) Krempien, and their children, Abby, Ryan, and Nevie. She is further survived by her siblings, Jerome (Thelma) Schaefer of St. Cloud, Wally Schaefer of Fond du Lac, Bernard (Irene) Schaefer of Fond du Lac, Marion (Don) Payant of Childersburg, AL, Don (Kathy) Schaefer of Oconomowoc, Gerald (Vicky) Schaefer of Greensboro, GA, Florence (Marv) Grahl of Eden, Harold Schaefer of Manawa, WI; one sister-in-law, Connie Keyes of Fond du Lac; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alphonse; one brother, Herbert Schaefer; one sister, Alice (Rueben) Krebsbach; three sisters-in-law, Joan, Mary Jane, Thelma.



The visitation will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2015 from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon at St. Peter’s Church, Holy Family Parish. 

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at St. Peter’s Church, Holy Family Parish. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.



In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to a charity of one’s choice in LaVerne’s name.



The family extends a special thank you to the staff of St. Francis Terrace and Agnesian Hospice for their care and compassion given to LaVerne.
